I have prayed and rebuked, almost as to no avail... Gregor, We really can not see all that is and has been set in motion by your prayers, so please, do not feel your prayers are "almost to no avail" . If we truly believe that God hears us, and we pray within HIS will, then enough said, He has already dealt with it. Keep praying brother. dan

I would just add that these religionists have been around (In one form or the other) since the beginning of time and will be around till the end of time. Even if they (and in time they will) move out of your community, they will most certainly move into another. It is the nature of the beast. They have also rung my bell many times over the years, and I agree to give them 5 min.if they agree to give me only three when their 5 is up, they always do. In just three minutes I illustrate to them, with Bible in hand, that Jesus is the Christ sent by God. I have also twice in the past two years done the same with tele-marketers, you know those guys who call at dinner time to sell one item or the other. I agreed up front to listen to their story if they would first hear what I had to say of Jesus....they also always agree. First in their case because they have the advantage of hanging up on me after they have given me their sell.! So I get the floor first.! Another time about 6 yrs ago. I was in a diner having a cup of coffee by myself. A man and a woman came in a few minutes after me, sat down in the booth just in front of mine. I felt this burden from the Lord to minister to him about Jesus somehow I instantly knew He was a Jew, but I was not sure if it this burden to minister truly was from God, so I asked God to reassure me. I asked Him if He wanted me to minister to this guy then let this guy "say your name". Within 10 seconds the guy said to his companion " my wife was in France when she got sick and she prayed to God, for the pain to stop". He said the name of "God" 2 more time in the next 2 sentences. ....I was convinced!! I excused myself as I interrupted their conversation and said "Can I talk to you about Jesus"?.....Instantly and with some arrogance the man and his companion both loudly barked a resounding.... No! I was quite taken aback, and for an instant doubted my first reaction that I was called to do this....just a few minutes before. ...I said ok, and began to turn around to my seat. The man then said, "do you know why I don't want to talk about Jesus"? I said no I don't. He said "because I am a Jew and I have no use for Him" My heart initially felt broken.....but somehow I knew that God was going to use me. I was now once again sure confident that this was ordered by God. As it turned out we were engrossed in conversation until 10:20 pm. we started at 7pm, the diner closed at 10pm and no one asked us to leave.... The man and his companion were far more shocked than I, his companion even remarked that this had to be from God because here beeper which normally goes off every 20 minutes did not beep once!! I was not surprised at all..... The three of us walked out to our cars, looked up to the heaven and the man said " As of this minute my friend I know one thing is for sure, that God has sent you to tell me these things, and I will consider them" The reason I tell you these things gregor is to show that there is always an opportunity for Christians to tell all those we meet about our Lord Jesus. And the most powerful element in the telling is that the word of God will never return void....but He will use it for His good. So maybe aside from praying about the door to door non Christians in the community you speak of, you can organize a Christian rebuttal of some sort. Maybe that would mean alerting Christians that they might receive a knock on their door, and they should be prepared to put on their armor...and take the shield of faith in their hand. Or if they are of the mind not to do any teaching or preaching...but only to say something on the order of Jesus Christ is my Lord and Saviour and I will pray that He will soon be that to you....and then just politely say thank you but bo thank you to their literature and or speech. BTW.... My 3 minutes usually goes into 10 or 15 because of their questions.I also give out tracts after my time is up. They always forget to leave me their literature!!! Smile! So you might also hand out tracts to the people in your community where these door knockers are going to be. Be prepared in and out of season...and never lose heart.
