Tech prince to invest in
Priceline.com: Saudi
Arabia's Prince Alwaleed
bin Talal said today that
he would buy a forward
contract to purchase $50
million in common stock
of Priceline.com (PCLN).
The deal gives the Prince
an option to purchase 2
million shares at a fixed
rate of $25 per share from
Priceline.com founder Jay
Walker between Sept. 8,
2001, and Sept. 8, 2002.

Alwaleed already owns
more than $1 billion in
technology stocks with
about $400 million
invested in both America
Online (AOL) and
Compaq (CPQ) and about
$100 million in both
Eastman Kodak (EK) and
Xerox (XRX).
