Yep, Jake, I think a lot of people consider that one of their finest moments. I listen to it on Deadshow.com regularly, especially that mesmerizing scarlett-fire. Another great scarlett was at Greek theater july 13 1984. I climbed up in the hills behind the Greek for that one - it was a perfect Bay Area night with views out over the bay to the lights of SF. I had a feeling they'd pull a surprise Friday the 13th encore, and sure enough, they did the only Dark Star I've seen live.

My first show was the Englishtown extravaganza later in 1977, and though a bit looped in the crowd of 150,000 or so, I later got a bootleg LP set of the show with a bonus Pigpen good lovin track with a long rap on it. Part of the Raceway show's on the deadshow site too, but it sounds better on my bootlegs. One of the better shows that I saw.

with some Live Tony Rice and 5/8/77 cued to the beginning
of the 2nd set.
