<Homestake Mining Co. said on Monday it would wind down operations and close its high-cost, flagship Homestake gold mine in Lead, S.D.> Should have done that long ago.... any fool knows you can't have operations of ANY kind in this country [let along mining] and make money... the U.S. is to raise capital, work should be done elsewhere.
