Aftershocks. Consolidation. Tech market looking for solid signs of direction. Some bargains in the confusion like NOVL at 10 1/8 I just got. Strong dollar hurts IBM a little but they're going so strong now they'll still beat estimates. UIS down because of IBM a little. Can get it for $14 or maybe a tick under. Ought to hold here and resume climb. Ditto CPWR, IFMX, NOVL. As predicted telcos up a big today but it will take more than one day to blast through the remaining scepticism. It will happen soon but today's just one of those wishy-washy days with confusing signals. I'm holding through this and nibbling on dips in my favorites. Watch LU getting knocked down in telecommunications equipment sell-off. Fact is they're already so sold off today's price represents a stellar entry point. They'll turn it around esp with their upcoming spin-off. Nervous market and a stalemate day. By Wednesday maybe we see the sustainable turnaround.

Thanks for the response, I have moved to the sidelines as well, my gut feeling is that there is not enough fear in the market and with earnings warnings coming soon things may get wild.

Shorts are winning at the moment...

One observation that seems appropriate here in support of a rally is this:

Generally in a market trending down 2:30 will show some upside strength, as shorts are taking profits...when a market is trending higher, there is typically a selloff in the 2:30 time frame...when shorts are reloading...

Expecting to see some strength after 2:30...if not, well then get out the armor<g>

There's pickin's out there today...just a little on the slim side. Fished VIAN at 8 1/2 this am for a bounce. I don't think I've ever written the word "down" so much in one post!--MK--
