I don't understand this one. To pick an arbitrary date for a stock performance doesn't make sense and is always biased. Before MRV hit 3 bucks (and less) in summer 98 they had been at an average of about 15 from summer 96 to summer 98. So lets be fair in terms of performance.

I have been long since Spring 98 and believe me I was fed up with the company timing when they announced the earnings shortcoming in 98. At the time the nasdaq was just going sour with the first major drops and into that climate MRV announces they would come short. Luckily I hold (though for the wrong reasons). However I also didn't average down much because I was so pissed that I just did want to look at them again.

Excellent technology - yes. Feeling for future technology development - yes. But public relations - no wizards. Fortunately the first two are more important but good public relations and could be helpful once in a while.

I am saying this to keep things in perspective. I am very happy with MRV, long since Spring 98, and can wait to realize my gains. But I have a lot of sympathy for the "worst timing" poster.
