hey appro

looks like a good lead for to fix the missing file menu.

i cruised my registry for that key and found no such entry. in the explorer folder there was not a 'nofilemenu' entry. do you think this is because i am running ie5.0 and not 5.01? i kind of doubt it.

re "(if you are unfamiliar with editing registry, PM me)"....

please, feel free to keep that sort of info here on the public thread for everyone. remember, this is the computer learning thread!

:)

Then where it says "NoFileMenu" change the "1" to a "0".

Worked like a champ!

Thanks,

tc
ps: Still wonder how it got changed?

hey appro

remember the stack overflow prob you had about two months ago? (#reply-14107544)...

well, helping you helped me, cause i just caught the same identical windows error message:

"Terminating thread due to a stack overflow problem. A VxD, possibly recently installed, has consumed too much stack space. Increase the setting of 'MinSPs' in SYSTEM.INI or remove recently installed VxD's. There are currently 6 SPs allocated." (except mine said 5 SPs)

and now i know precisely what to do.

[edit: btw, any updates along these lines? any similar reoccurring error messages, or subsequent stack page increases?]

:)
