Nah, they will still by Intel because it's....Intel...
OEMs won't even buy 1.1 GHz Athlons instead of 900 Mhz Coppermines...because they aren't "Intel"...
Another reason they like Coppermine is because they can stick in in a i810 or i815e motherboard with integrated audio and video, then stick it in a pretty box and sell it.
Intel is regaining market share in the mid low end.
K6-2s have disappeared and Durons haven't shown up in force yet. Large OEMs are reluctant to displace Celerons and Pentium IIIs with Durons...they just don't want that many SKUs to have them all. Intel has them locked in...
hoping to get some Willys.
Also, the AMD platform is unstable...(TM-Mikee D)
AMD will self destruct by the end of the year...
Just look at the stock...
