Symbol N410:

I've been messing around with a Symbol N410 MS C/E O/S (Class II Laser Product) the past few days. A friend of mine has it, and I've been looking it over. A lot of power for specific applications. I believe Symbol offer a similar device with a Palm O/S.

The device costs approximately $1400, has a non-color screen, and is quite a bit larger than a regular PDA. It's used for many different applications, including recognition of barcodes.

OT:

(Aus: didn't you ask what stock had certain financial #'s in the past, and it was Symbol? Talking about this device reminded me of that question. You were comparing Symbol to SanDisk at the time.)

The company that invents adequate wireless or PDA security will be a big winner but so far has anyone even come close?

"(Companies) are realizing that the PDA is a hole in the security net," said Ryan McGee, product marketing manager for McAfeeB2B.com Corp., the anti-virus software subsidiary of Network Associates Inc. (Nasdaq:NETA - news) "The devices don't have a lot of security. It is something that they have not managed to squeeze in."
