how many millions of people will buy laser printers through their cell phones??? what a stupid example.
now i see why it's still worth $ 10 billion (down from $ 25 billion in march), all these hordes of people who take the subway in the morning will read their horoscopes and buy 5 new laser printers for their small offices using Infospace information infrastructure services.
you own a small office and take a subway? why don't you just call your secretary??
i can't believe this is september 2000, and one has to read a whole *article* analyzing this sh-t.
i feel like having living dead zombies around me.
WHAT ARE YOU PEOPLE SMOKING????

read this again ALOUD to yourselves now:

"Sales: $69 million
Earnings: deficit
Today's market cap: ~$10 billion"

(it was $ 25 billion in march, when the zombies here expected it to double by yearend)

by the way, there is NO MENTION whatsoever in this pamphlet to the many competitive threats this company will increasingly face.

___
"The dream InfoSpace interaction (from the company's standpoint) is you sitting on a subway train deciding to purchase five new laser printers for your small office, using your handheld device to look up info on what will suit your needs, locating the best deals available via a local merchant who can deliver within 24 hours, and then you swiping the stylus or punching a button to execute that very transaction. All while you sit on the subway."
