One of the last epic battles which resulted in an undisputed
Gorilla was the war between Cisco/Bay/3com. That battle is
well documented and studied.

Tomorrow, Dan W and Mr. V will lead the troops to bonsai
charge against a very well-prepared opponent in EMC.

I submit to the thread that Dan and Don picked the timing and
the battlefield with EMC along with a host of vets from the
last epic battle, namely Cisco Systems Against Bay Networks
and 3Com Corp:

Jeff Allen CFO--from SynOptics/Bay Networks
Mark Jon Bluth VP--from Bay Networks
Mark Santora VP--from Cisco Systems
Carol Bartz, Board menmber--Cisco Systems Board Member
Robert Wall, Board member--Cisco Systems
Don Valentine COB-Cisco Systems Board Member and its former COB
Larry Carter, Board member--Cisco Systems, CFO
Dan W. CEO--who recommended Cisco Systems to Mr. V

So, 8 of the 23 core management members were directly involved
in the last great battle and it is comforting to know that
this group of people know exactly what it will take to win,
what it takes to be the gorilla as SAN and NAS converge.

My money is on NTAP.
