Wiz,

So what did Barton have to say? I betcha Fiona is ready to disown him. And her husband.

Orwell might get an assist but TD popularized the notion of groupthink, which was in full bloom at the DLJ conference this week. It has been a busy post-Labor day season so far and I could use a break from the nighttime festivities before my liver shuts down. The roofdeck at the St. Regis has been getting a workout ya know. 72 degrees is about as good as it gets on that perch. The $12 tanqueray and tonics seem almost reasonable when you do not have to pick up the check.

It has been good to see all the hard-chargers from years past with the exception of one guy. The biggest asshole on Wall Street works at the Kaufmann Fund and it aint Hans or Larry. Name that jerk on the first guess and I will hook you up with a cult cab from my stash. Shafer Hillside got your fancy?

Wiz, NN,

We've been studying up on BVSN, I'm still worried about the architecture transition, but then this nonsense comes along:

<<BroadVision, which is best known for selling software that lets companies personalize what customers see on Web sites, said in a statement that it expects its new MarketMaker product to ``blow Ariba and Commerce One out of the water.'' >>

What the %^**$#@#$ are these morons thinking? They explicitly stated they weren't going to go after cmrc and arba (nor can they come close in the attempt in my opinion).

This is a no win loudmouth and perhaps strategically stupid thing to do.

I'm also troubled by the release a few days before the end of the quarter....our indications were that despite artg strengthening, bvsn was having no problems....but trying to slide a new product out just before the q is out?

and then this "blowing away" nonsense. it reminds me of several software acts of bravado in the past.....

OS/2 better Windows than Windows, Better DOS than DOS

Vantive: We're gonna crush SEBL in SFA,

etc etc.

Now I wonder if BVSN is really actually a short?
