That's what I was trying to say.

My guess is that Compaq and Gateway found that AMD systems sell - but only at prices WELL BELOW Intel systems for the same clock speed.

After all - what else does AMD bring to the table ? - just a cheaper CPU - and people only want the AMD brand if it is REAL CHEAP.
