Dear Ish: I personally love Okeechobee, but it takes a certain kind of person to live there. Very small townish (I went to a Labor Day parade and Western Rodeo there last week and had a GREAT TIME). Everyone there is outdoorish, mostly fishing types. Good news is its VERY CHEAP for EVERYTHING. Must be something in the water there, a lot of REALLY old people but they are so healthy its incredible. Not much in the way of evening recreation. Most belong to either the American Legion or the VFW both have dances and entertainment every weekend. After that its only the bar scene and most are full of rowdy cowboys. JDN
