The fellow has been here for almost 20 years (he's 33 now) and seems very Americanized and progressive. However, he is not a citizen and his parents are in Egypt, though they lived in the US and Europe for years. My daughter has met the parents and found them to be delightful. I have thought about potential problems in case of children and divorce; that is a definite concern. He does treat my daughter extremely well and with great respect, so I can only hope that won't change. As for marriage, I'm sure they've thought about it, but no firm plans. I'm not entirely "cool" with that quite yet, I must admit.
