Ted, it's interesting enough, but I don't think $70 is that much compared to the alleged cut-rate intro price on the super-size P4. It'll be more interesting to see how much Intel can lowball on mobo prices, the somewhat equivalent dual Rambus channel 840 boards mostly go for $500 or more. Then there's the new form factor and power supply, special screws for super-sized heat sinks, HVAC engineering in the case- should be fun to watch.

Cheers, Dan.

Ted said re Rambus rebate article: "...I must have missed the other articles that were posted. First I heard of it was last nite and it blew me away."

Ted, Ted, Ted.. you really need to visit some techie and news sites more often:)

As for the Rambus rebate.. I dont know why it would blow you away.. Intel knows RDRAM is still more expensive then SDRAM and also faces a skeptical user community who doesnt think much of its claims of performance vs conventional SDRAM, and a large portion of the community wouldnt bother with RDRAM anyhow due to their oposition in principle to Rambus and its perceived monopoly tactics of trying to force RDRAM down everyone's throat. Intel will do everything in its power to make sure RDRAM isnt what causes P-4 to not take off. This move doesnt surprise me at all that they're offering an incentive program.. I dont know whether 70$ is enough though to ease the pain.
