re: Two sets of guesses makes an already dumb situation even dumber. Whos right? Whos wrong?

Actually, that's very easy to answer by looking at the history. They're ALL wrong!

I finally understand what OPEC has been saying about the governments "doing their part". They are telling the West that they are pretty much tapped out and if the West wants lower prices they will have to lower taxes.

Didn't understand it when Chavez first said it over a month ago, but it makes perfect sense now.

Yup, the old treadmill at work. The panic buying/hoarding of gasoline actually probably increased demand to levels that would have been higher than normal. IMO the US gasoline draw should be MUCH larger than the guesses. Should include labor day demand this time. Should counterbalance any big crude build. So we have to watch refinery run rates and import levels to get a better idea of what's going underneath. I expect another modest net build followed by about 3 modest net declines 1 modest build then winter and THE DELUGE!

IMO attention will now turn to talk of Clinton using the SPR to the tune of 300 - 500K a day for three months. IMO this is easily, quickly, and quietly countered by OPEC/Iraq with well maintenance downtime. Could make for some decent buying ops though.
