It almost smells like more bad news coming to me, but that's just a WAG based on what I have seen with other issues over the years. Any thoughts?" .... I'm wondering if more bad news is coming myself. With 42,423,300 shares trading today, it makes me think that somebody might know something. You have to go back to 7/20 when 85,328,800 shares traded after LUCENT's earnings announcement and then warning that things would be flat for the next two quarters and the next day 7/21 when 40,008,400 more shares traded to see shares moving like they did today... those two days back in July took the stock down 64 1/5 to 51 1/8 and has led to the position the stock finds itself in now. I got whacked then, got out, then got back in at 41 with a lesser position when I thought I saw a bottom forming ... now I'm whacked again. I have to stay in now and ride out the spin-off, although I haven't the slightest iota what it will mean. Will they sell AVAYA when it starts trading? Will it wind up like AWE (AT&T's tracking stock which isn't doing much of anything these days) as is its parent company T. I think things will be better next year when LU spins-off the Microelectronics part of the business. That's a more profitable piece of the pie. I'm also trying to rationalize the fact that the company said in its most recent earnings announcement that things were going to be flat for at least two more quarters and maybe even three. I would think that type of news would be, as they say, factored in. But then I see the market as so gun shy and trigger happy that any more "bad" news from the company will only cause instant unhappiness, more lack of confidence in a company that should be doing much better, and then more downward pressure on the stock. Then again, some of this may just be posturing for the spin-off. Get out now and drive the stock down then jump back in and push it up and take some more profits. Either FEAR has forced individual investors out at these levels or something else is going on.....ANON
