John

It's a good day to be holding cash. Intel was trading over $75 five days ago.

Yes, cash is even better than Intel.

Must be some serious rumors on CSCO earnings weakness, over 75 million shares today.

It looks that way but CSCO is claiming they are on track to make earnings for Q3. The current reaction is not based on specific news but results from generalized fears that spending for the telecom/internet buildout will be reduced due to a weaker economy. Just like PC sales are going into the toilet; that flash will be worthless in 3 months and DRAM prices may sink to $5. All it takes is for someone to see a hint of smoke these days and everyone yells fire.

But if you think CSCO is bad, check out NT....in six days, its down almost 20 pts...was at $82-83 and today closed around $63. LU moved into the 30's this week. DITC was in the 90's and now is in the 40's. I could go on but its depressing. :~((

John, Cisco's earnings are about 2 months away.

The telecoms, like T, FON, WCOM started tanking a while ago. Recently, they've grabbed NT and CSCO. Drowning man syndrome, or guilt by somewhat close association.
