David- I'm assuming the above must mean, "500,000 to 1 million..." And I still don't get it? Where are these subs located? I'm guessing they must be scattered all over the place. And you wonder who would be without phone service today? Are these the types that want to start buying it or can afford it? I'm still lost on why anyone thinks the market for WLL(narrowband voice) would be of significance in the US.

I can see this making more sense in third world countries and QCOM, a few years back(five or six), had a huge push to get into WLL. I don't believe I've heard them talk about WLL for two years now. You may want to check out their website. If they dropped the program, I'm sure something didn't check out.

Keep us updated because I'm curious about who these customers are and, of course, the stats supporting any significant WLL rollout. -MikeM(From Florida)
