Rambus (RMBS-$79-SB) Counter Suits Filed by Mark Edelstone ??? Rambus announced yesterday it had filed patent infringement suits against Micron (MU-$65-SB) and Hyundai in Germany and France. RMBS also asked the US International Trade Commission to investigate 'unlawful importation' of Hyundai's DRAM products. RMBS filed the suits after the 2 companies preempted licensing discussions in Aug by filing lawsuits in the US against RMBS. As stated in our discussion of the previous lawsuits filed by MU and Hyundai, RMBS' counter action is entirely within our expectations. We believe RMBS will continue to defend its intellectual property aggressively through active discussions and legal actions. RMBS holds its technology forum on 9/13 and an analyst meeting on 9/14. We expect RMBS to delineate its technology roadmap at the forum and provide a clear view in the strategy to protect its IP during the meeting. We maintain our Strong Buy Rating. swiftsolution.com
