Ken,

I don't even have to read the article! I have spent so much time on this Lucent being an "undervalued" stock theory, that I am physically sick to my stomach.

There is one thing of buying a stock on weakness, and then there is another thing of buying stock in a company having serious problems.

I believe the catalyst for a serious uptick will be the resignation of McGinn.

They have the following problems: 1) negative cash flow, 2) the threat of customers not being able to pay (a la Barrons' article), 3) the industry has taken recent hits with supposedly a telecom tightening (if NT/CSCO/JDSU can't weather the storm right now, Lucent should just call in sick), 4) Lucent has lost leadership in the financial industry, due to its management, 5) key employees have have for startups, and on and on.......

Everyone has heard the problems. A stock has to have some weakness to buy it. I just don't see strength in the sector, the industry, the company, the management, the earnings, or the financials/balance sheet. Time for me to consider a stock that has some positives.

I'm about to call and get a prescription for Prozac -- this is too damn depressing.
