richard,

Did you notice that the NEC news came out today AFTER the extended hours trading was over - unlike the Toshiba news which caused panic buying in the extended hours period. RMBS traded as high as 145 in the extended period that day before settling down in the following morning.

Bodes well for the am.

Barry

Royalties from Via ?

Once Rambus is done with MM, probably before mid 2001, they will definitely go after Via for royalties on SDRAM and DDR chipsets.
What is curent chipsets revenues for Via ? we will soon be getting 5% on that !

Hi richard surckla; Actually, I was looking through the old posts to see where it was that I stated that the significant players to sign were Micron, Infineon, and Hyundai. That was before the recent lawsuits. Those are the companies that are significant in DDR, and intend on remaining in the memory market in the future. Signing AMD, Intel or VIA to pay royalties on SDRAM would also be significant, in my view. But NEC just isn't that big of a player.

On the other hand, NEC is a much better target than OKI. The OKI news was a joke, and barely moved the stock price. NEC could be good for $20.

P.S. I still haven't found that post yet, but I did find this one. Remember it? #reply-14169479
