The topic was discussed over and over on usenet. here is a guy you would want to talk to if you are really interested. One of the egghead types that actually goes out and sits on the polar ice caps spending our tax dollars taking dumps that will be there for thousands of years. -g-:

Global warming is an issue that has become so politicized that it's impossible to know whom to trust. No one denies it's happening right now, what they can't agree on is whether air pollution is a causative factor, and if so, by how much. Wonder who's funding CEI, the Competitive Enterprise Institute, the organization you linked? Bet you anything it's industries that are regulated and oppose additional regulation vis-a-vis air pollution.
