<<. I do not see Williams' selling of overpriced optical investments to raise capital as scraping the bottom of the barrel>>

Williams Communication Group (WCG) currently has 423 million shares outstanding. Analysts are projecting WCG to lose $1.51 per share this fiscal year ($1.63 next year). That totals $638 million . Now, the company will issue $250 millon of convertible preferred (unregistered) at 6.75%. That will add another $17 million to the annual loss column. If all goes well, based on their current projected losses, they will burn through the $250 million in 4 months.

The signs are that the market is starting to lose its euphoric preoccupation with companies connected with BB service. The next request for funds by WCG should prove interesting.
