I sure hope you're required to at least read the constitution before becoming a citizen.

Why do you want to bring socialism with you to the United States when it has failed so miserably everywhere in the world?

Freedom and liberty exist in the United States directly because people have owned guns. Trust in the people, not in the all powerful central government.

That's probably the biggest difference between Democrats and Republicans. Democrats don't trust people, they trust government bureaucrats and an all powerful central government. Republicans, by and large, trust the people.

They trust the economic success of the nation to the people (so they want to lower taxes and allow more people the opportunity to start businesses). They trust people can manage their own retirement account, (so they want to partially privatize social security and put the account in the individuals name, instead of faceless governments bureacrats). They trust people with deciding which school to send their children, (so they push for vouchers and charter schools). They trust people can responsibly own and operate fire arms, (so they believe enough laws are already on the books regarding gun ownership, and desire to prosecute those criminals who violate our second amendment right to bear arms fully) And they trust people by limiting the size and scope of the federal government and moving decisions to the local level as much as feasible.

Ask yourself, why are you leaving India to come to the United States? Is it because of economic opportunity? Is it because of freedom and liberty?

Then why do you want to change the structure upon which those things were made possible? Freedom and liberty created the environment around which economic success became possible. Not tyranny, not anarchy (such as some silly posters here have asserted) but freedom.

The only one vocal on the issue seem be those whom have lost a loved one from a firearms related issue. Perhaps those of us who have seen lives saved should be more vocal.
