Although components and even complete solutions exist, the manageability of SANs and their integration into the rest of a business's technology infrastructure is weak. For this server test, we invited SAN vendors with complete SAN solutions to the InternetWeek/ University of Hawaii Advanced Network Computing Lab. We wanted to see not just the individual components, but an entire SAN working, from server, to storage, to management. Many vendors competed for our five available test slots.
