Three-day Chusok holiday....

Tom asked when those holidays are:
"Supposedly
it is all supposed to be over before the 3 day Chusok holiday. Anyone know when that is?

´The ministry is also known to be negotiating with IMT-2000
carrier candidates to settle the standard disputes before the
three-day Chusok holiday ends´ ."

No problemo, I thought, power up the trusty google-search engine and we will know in no time, I thought. After all, we live in the information age...

But it was more complicated than I thought. This Chusok or Moon festival (got nothing to do with mooning ( * ), folks) better known as Harvest Moon festival, soon to be happening or already happening in South Korea.

I found some very, very slightly contradicting sources ....

Chusok is at the 12th of September, according to these websites globalsources.com and
asiaspirit.com

Golf-Asia states that the Harvest Festival (=Moon Festival=Chusok Festival) is from the 12th to 14th of September, golf-asia.com

The Unesco, claims that there are holidays from the 15th to the 17th of September, unesco.org

SO far it seems to be concentrating on the middle of September, when this information comes up: "September 23- September 25 Harvest Moon Festival - Choo Soek", culturesquare.com.
Hmmm, Choo Soek and Chusok, sounds similiar to me... interesting to know I could also look under Choo Soek holidays in www.google.com, but maybe that is pushing thinsg a bit too far.

And then this: There is no Chusok holidays mentioned but there is a three day holiday at the 30 September until the 2nd October, virgin.net

Still another source claims that Chusok is from the 11th to the 13 of September, holidayfestival.com
As this is a very detailed explanation, it has the most credibility for me.

After all, it seems to me that Harvest Moon Festival is right happening right now, but who knows exactly ? Well, maybe somebody as relatives in Korea and he could call them to ask ?
