A quick scan of SI reveals that the clowns think ORCL is going to save the day.

ORCL is the biggest ponzi scheme on the street. All advertising, no substance. We've all seen the commercials on TV, ORCL runs anywhere from 95-99% of all websites blah blah blah....

If ORCL was sooooo great, I ask you to answer this one very simple question. SUNW and CSCO are growing revenue over 50%, how come ORCL is only growing at 15-20%? If they were truly the "e" in "e-business", they would be growing at 50% a year like the other leaders.

The reality is damn near anything coming out of Oracle is a complete lie. If they run a back office HR application, they claim to run the whole site. I saw on one of their commercials they claimed to run Schwab's website. The whole trading system is run on DB/2 on S390's! Oracle's only presense is a little content management (ie, graphics). I guess that's enough for them to claime they run the site. That also explains why they fired their last advertising agency because they weren't being "aggressive enough". Maybe the advertising agency just had a little more ethics than Oracle and wasn't willing to blatently lie to the public.

Bottom line, the numbers are going to be complete garbage, but will the street buy them? They seem desperate for some good news...

Back to lurking for the rest of the month. Gotta get some work done so I can do OT building webservers...
