But I still think it is more of a PR problem than a engineering problem. Reminds me of years back in New York, the LIRR was breaking down almost every day and the local news media started to bash everything the LIRR management ever did. Local radio and TV stations went on reporting about train delays and every day for months they would report that a certain train from Ronconkomo was 2 hours late arriving Penn Station in Manhattan. It went on and on. Nelson Rockefeller, then the Gov of NY, very wisely suggested to the LIRR management just to change the schedule and print the arrival time for that train 2 hours later. I think that did the trick. and the bashing stopped. As for Intel, I think most of its recent problems are PR problems. Complex projects are always delayed and bad things happen when you are on the cutting edge going into areas where no other company has been before. Intel is managed by mostly engineers who actually completed college (as opposed to Gates, Jobs, and the Oracle guy). They have lousy people skills. I doubt they can communicate with PR, IR, or any other people - in general. Anyhow, that is my theory. And as proof of my theory, I submit the following: Paul Engel Q.E.D.<GGGG> Mary
