<<Fed says buys Tsy coupons from 6/30/01 to 2/28/02

WEDNESDAY, SEPTEMBER 13, 2000 10:41:00 AM EST

NEW YORK, Sept 13 (Reuters) - The Federal Reserve said on Wednesday it was purchasing U.S. Treasury securities dated June 30, 2001 through February 28, 2002 for delivery on Thursday, adding permanent reserves to the banking system.

The Fed said bids from dealers were due by 11:15 a.m. (1515 GMT). All callable issues were excluded from the purchase.

Earlier, the Fed added $1.995 billion in temporary reserves to the banking system through overnight system repurchase agreements.>>

Gee, that was a hard one to predict with New Era Al blabbering this afternoon.
