First sign of weakness of ECM stocks. Need to find out which areas were weak and who they build for. Merrill on SCI : Firm sees warning as isolated to company specific issues and believes there are still many positives in SCI; the reason for the weakness in the quarter is the full PC system which represents just 20% of the company's sales; firm sees stock as most inexpensive in the group and recommends that value investors looking to participate in the EMS industry take advantage of the stock's current weakness. SCI Systems (SCI) 42 1/2 -13 7/16: -- Update -- SG Cowen downgrades to BUY from STRONG BUY after the company preannounces Q1 shortfall citing seasonal weakness in consumer electronics and finished goods PC demand.
