bigja,<<<reports continue that Intel is falling short of the mark not just for Q3 but for soon-arriving Q4 as well. Whether owing to "slower demand" or "low manufacturing yields", stories abound throughout Silicon Valley that Intel is coming up short as Q3's conclusion draws near.>>>

I don't get it. Investors are selling Intel based on this guys report. But this guy is basing his report on un-named reports from others. This report is based on "stories abound" (but largely un-named).

Is this the same way of saying there are rumors?

So based on these un-named rumors, the stock goes down 20%.

There are no numbers attached to these rumors.

There is a feeding frensy going on here. These analysts are feeding each other rumors and passing them off as research.

What if he is getting these rumors from that PC consultant on the Burke thread who has been reporting that second tier/white box makers have glut of unwanted inventory and shortage of the latest chips. The only thing wrong with this report is that this guy has been reporting this story ever since the Internet started to accellerate PC sales over 4 years ago.

What am I missing? We still have Drew Peck to hear from.
