These downgrades do seem like a tempest in a teapot. The analysts posit a rumor or an assumption. "IF" demand is slow, Intel will have an inventory overhang going into 4Q. No S**t, but all along folks have said demand is strong. Who knows?

Next, some guy says "rumors" can only be explained by "speculating" that Intel has slowed down its PIII production, leading to "sharply lower" yields.

ALL this stuff without one clue from the company seems quite flimsy...so far.
