Your college days beat mine.

In my college days, we had a couple demonstrations that I attended.
I think the real reason I attended these protests, was to meet chicks...
They didn't know I voted for Reagan.
I kept it a secret.
:^)
(I'm not a registered anything.
I vote for the best person or for a cause that may need a certain number of votes to stay on the ticket.
Several times I voted for The Right To Life party.
Not because of religious reasons nor because I don't respect the rights of women. I just feel that these unborn need a voice...)
Don't want to cause any debates here.

Back to school:

We had a big rally because one time there was a small fire in an auditorium where some cleaning supplies that were burned contained toxic stuff.
They had classes the next day eventhough it still smelled of the stuff.
We marched to the Presidents office, etc.
Not quite the stuff that makes the evening news.
Much less interesting than your story.

We did hold a pretty big rally to free Mandella and to end Apartheid.
We made the news that time.
It was a couple of days long.
Was a cool excuse to blow off classes and attend these huge rallies where they played African drum music and people made speeches.

They called Stony Brook, the Berkley of the East.

Learned more outside the classroom than inside.
Lost quite a few brain cells there.
The dorms where I lived were complete chaos.
Was the most fun I ever had.
I remember not wanting it to end.
Seems like it happened yesterday...
