I didn't say that the metric is useful - but it shows that your metric of "400 million Windows PCs" is even less useful. MSFT will not sell 400 million Windows Me licenses this year.

In fact, I find all the figures mentioned here quite worthless.

The earnings on Windows Me this fiscal year has no fundamental relationship with the stock price. The stock price is based on future growth, which requires customers to trust Microsoft, which requires Microsoft to be an innovative company.

And I still miss the auto-sort facility in my start-menu. Very often, I envy those, who run plain old Windows 95 - the best product from MSFT ever.
