Beyond.com Shares Rise After Retaining Nasdaq Listing
By Greg Wiles

Santa Clara, California, Sept. 13 (Bloomberg) -- Shares of Beyond.com Corp., a Web-based software retailer, surged 44 percent after saying its shares won't be pulled from the Nasdaq National Market.

Beyond.com rose 47 cents to 1.53 in trading of 2.78 million shares.

The company late yesterday said it met Nasdaq's standards for continued listing. Last month Beyond.com said its stock was in danger of losing its listing on the Nasdaq National Market because it didn't meet Nasdaq's minimum standard for assets.

Since that time the company has restructured its debt, exchanging $62.3 million of debt for $41.6 million of new convertible debt. That allowed the company to meet a Nasdaq requirement of having at least $4 million in net tangible assets, or assets, excluding goodwill, minus liabilities.

How does Amazon stay listed?? They have a negative tangible assets including goodwill or is there a market cap that counts too??
