While jazzed that MacOS X includes FreeBSD, and of course a superior HW platform, I don't have any greater hope for the future of proprietary Mac desktop software than proprietary Windows desktop software. I would guess that Apple is likely to sell a good deal of those Mac G4s with OS X to the faithful and perhaps (finally) as well, to a market beyond that (specifically the small server market). --- Perhaps for the first time outside of the iMac, Apple has what has to be a competitve workstation against Wintel. --- Now, they just need to come up with Apple/Mac branded thin client.
