willcousa,

I've heard that before about the AMAT thread, I will find the time to follow it.

MHO now. My concern about demand is in the retail channel, 4th quarter. This year there are a lot of new digital products competing with PC's for a finite number of consumer dollars. MP3 players (new), handheld PDA/computers (big advertising budget this year per WSJ article today), Sony Playstation 2 (looks to be huge), digital cameras (just coming into their own this year, 100% YOY growth). DVD players continue accelerating growth. All of these products compete with PC's for consumer dollars.

When the average consumer walks into Best Buy for a Christmas gift, will he upgrade his computer, or will he buy a new product? Your guess is as good as mine, but I believe there is risk, especially based on last years strong 4th quarter comps.
