Doug--Altho I haven't given thought to the question, and I have no background, I can't resist commenting. IMO, laws, like supply and demand, are called laws because they are compelling. Therefore, manipulations change demand or supply and therefore the price of any commodity. Is the price manipulated? Hell yes. Most of us remember the Hunts manipulated the price of silver. Also, because they still could not control the market, they lost their shirts. Once they tried to take profits and sell, all their holdings collapsed in value. Having said that, I hope all the bad news about JPM is out. This is one of my "safe" investments(VBG).
