It's 50% only if you count every little guy with a small mutual fund account. Close to 90% of the money invested is from a small group of rich guys, and the rich guys will vote Republican anyway.

If this is caused by an energy crisis, it will affect everyone. Those most hurt by it will be those of the traditionally Democratic base. Gore would be toast.
