i disagree on that point, simply because i think it doesn't matter what's in our interest. a credit and asset bubble implosion is deflationary by nature - the BoJ tries to inflate the debts away for over ten years now. it would be in its interest to do so as well, and yet, it doesn't work, as there are simply no takers for the freshly printed money.
it's also too early in the k-wave for a stagflation, but i won't rule it out entirely - a confluence of factors resulting in stagflation is still possible. but i don't think it's likely. too much overcapacity has been built up during the bubble...
