<"Corporations have been enthroned ....>

Yea, but Lincoln probably couldn't have imagined the government being so screwed up that this is actaully good compared to what people have experienced lately!

An era of corruption in high places will follow and the money power will endeavor to prolong its reign by working on the prejudices of the people... until wealth is aggregated in a few hands ... and the Republic is destroyed.

This, of course, already happened a long time ago. I hope that you don't actually believe the nonsense about how our political system is great because it permits an 'orderly transition of power'. The last true transition of power took place nearly 70 years ago, amid civil unrest and economic tough love... hardly orderly. The present system of managerial democratic state capitalism was put in place. Since then, all elections have been mere echoes, tidy little intrafaith discussions about the correct managerial philosophy.
