KInd of OT;still short of the mark when compared to a well recorded RCA Living Stereo LP of 60's-70's vintage

Maybe true in theory Lew, but in practice, LP's accumulate clicks and other unwanted noise like my kids accumulate any spare change in my pockets. I've just recorded a few LP's onto CD (you can't buy this artist on CD) from a variety of sources, and have to say, it reminded me why I rebought most of my LP's as CD's. Also, when you accumulate the years like I am doing, I doubt I could hear the difference these days <G>.

And finally, most MP3 is played on crappy PC speaker systems or personal players, where accurate and hifi and other such hifalutin' words are a non sequitur, like military intelligence or airline food.
