Re SAWS: from the 7/25/00 WSJ... Mr. Robert's approach produced a grand-slam home-run in the case of QCOM, which climbed 2,622% last year. He upgraded the wireless comm. co. to a 'strong buy" in March of '98, a time when the highflying stock hadn't emerged on many investors' radar screens...... Mr. Robert's top pick this year is Sawtek, a maker of specialized filters used by the wireless industry. "There are a number of investors who are concerned that Sawtek filters in wireless phones are going to ge obsolete because of a competing technology, " he said. "We don't think there's an obsolescence risk for at least 3-5 years, which in this business is an eternity."
