Hey chic, who's the eBay worker? I'm sure there must be some additional angle for the scambus operation there somehow. Maybe they could auction kidneys, votes, and old supercomputers on the side. Probably easier to move that stuff than what they're selling now.

Cheers, Dan.

Chic, <P4 coming online when there is low DRDRAM volumes. It's not expected to ramp until guess when? Next fall, right when there's a non-Rambus chipset.>

The expectations are that dual-RDRAM will demonstrate better performance on Pentium 4 platforms than PC133 or DDR. Also, the expectations are that single-RDRAM will be easier to implement than single-DDR, and dual-DDR will be out of the question for high-volume desktops.

Intel is not trying to kill off RDRAM in any way. Intel is still pushing for coexistence of DDR and RDRAM. If DDR really is that much better and that much cheaper than RDRAM, then RDRAM will die off on its own without Intel's help. You seem to think that this possibility is inevitable, but I don't.

chic> I'm just a computer geek working in the industry, "BWDIK"

Do you really think that provides you some deep insight not available to anyone else who takes the time to research this issue or even to that 49 year old Vietnam vet who sells used cars... but has also been working with computers for 23 plus years??

LOL!!!

Don
