Alcatel Unveils Call Center Tech In France, Germany

NEW YORK -(Dow Jones)- Alcatel SA (ALA) released a call center software application in France and Germany, for small and medium-sized businesses.

In a press release Thursday, the company said the application, designed to support up to 32 agents, is a PC-based system, integrating voice server and automatic call distribution.

Alcatel's New York Stock Exchange-listed American Depositary Shares recently traded at $76.75, up $3.25, or 4.4%, on composite volume of 1.2 million shares. Average daily volume is 90.7 million shares.

Alcatel provides integrated end-to-end voice and date networking systems. The Paris-based company posted 1999 sales of EUR23 billion and operates in more than 130 countires.

Steve, demand in Europe is picking up after summer. When you hear speculators talking about .80 then you know we are at the peak.
Low inflation in US should yield % cut within the next 2-5 months. When it become clear, Euro will go up, specially that economy in Europe will be stronger in coming months.
