Horgad-

I agree the current systems of elections is far from ideal, but system proposed by Oblomov would only increase power in the hands of big corporations and other special interest groups.

The cure is campaign finance reform of one variety or another.

<Bottom line is the system is not working. >

In the grand scheme of things I must disagree... in the big picture there isn't much of urgent importance for the entire country being ignored right now... there are many marginal issues that are not addressed however, I agree with you there.

<I can guarantee you that what the big corps. and interest groups want from their candidates does not represent the wants of the majority of American people.>

I agree that special interests are 'all over' the margins and influencing way too much... but if an issue of major importance surfaces, no corperation is going to get in the way... they'd be ridden out of the country on a rail.

<. I think politicians should be forced to where decals of their "sponsors" and to do the hat dance win they win. >

ROFLMAO... and agree! Again, I'm not disagreeing with much of what you're saying, but I truly believe that having the power sharing we have including corperations, and many other groups is certainly better than centralized situations elsewhere.
