Great LNUX news....VA Linux Systems Grows Worldwide Server Market Share According to IDC No. 2 in Linux Server Market Share in US No. 3 Worldwide SUNNYVALE, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Sept. 14, 2000--VA Linux Systems, Inc. (Nasdaq:LNUX - news) today announced that the company has moved up in US and worldwide Linux server market share since Q4 1999, according to International Data Corporation (IDC). Based on Linux server statistics recently released by IDC's Worldwide Quarterly Server Tracker, Q2 2000 release, VA Linux now ranks second in the US, ahead of Dell and IBM, and third worldwide in terms of factory revenue. IDC's data show that VA Linux grew its US market share to 20% in Q2 2000 based on total Linux server factory revenue. From Q1 to Q2 2000, the overall market for Linux servers grew by 54% in the US. VA Linux Systems accounted for 10.81% of worldwide factory revenue in Q2 2000, putting the company in the top three worldwide for the first time.
