The very best students almost max out on the math portion and get 700 or above in the verbals.

Gore was about average and Duh was way behind him. However, while Gore has gone on to improve, Duh has turned into a total dunce.

Sorry that I misremembered. It is still a respectable score, roughly the 80th percentile in verbal, and about the 95 in math.

Another less published fact about SATs is that you can now take them multiple times and combine the highest score from the verbal and math sections of any test to get your total. That contrasts when I took them, where if you retook the test the total score of only one test counted, no combinations.knc
